Post Shank
While installing a metal newel post directly into the tread, landing tread, or floor system is acceptable - we prefer a more professional look. To accomplish that, we use a wood Post Shank that matches the tread and handrail. The Shank is notched on the stair, and the metal newel post is buried into the shank with Epoxy. Not only does it create a more refined vision, but it delivers a much more solid and sturdy connection that will allow your staircase to last a lifetime. Each Post Shank is 24" x 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" and comes with a top and bottom Post Cap. (Post Cap is 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" x 7/8")
