- By centering balusters over stringers the entire balustrade system is stronger.

we let-in a staircase we notch the post base to insure strength and
longevity, as well as to eliminate the potential for it to loosen up
over time.

When possible, we use smaller risers and longer treads than code requirements. The reason is simple. If there are young children or older adults in the house it is easier and safer for them. We always make sure the staircase walks comfortably and that there are not any awkward or dangerous transitions.
